Questioned Documents Examiners, LLC founder, Diana J. Mears, is a Court Qualified, Certified Questioned Document Examiner.

Diana began her career in April 2012. She studied and worked alongside Katherine Mainolfi Koppenhaver at her office regularly while taking Katherine’s course, The Forensic Document Examination Interactive Training Program.

After approximately 1800 hours of training and 3 years 2 months later, the course was completed in June of 2015. In October of that same year, Diana became certified through the International Association of Document Examiners (IADE). By June 2016 she began working full time for Forensic Document Examiners, Inc. as Kathie’s associate.

During her 9 years at Forensic Document Examiners, Diana worked cases, went on location to examine and photograph documents, prepared letters of opinions, created exhibits, testified in court, and trained students nationally and internationally. She trained students for both private practice and for government agencies. 

To date, she has worked on nearly 900 cases. Diana has testified for both sides (Plaintiffs and Defendants) as well as for civil and criminal cases.

Diana is currently a member of the International Association of Document Examiners. She served as their Newsletter Editor from January 2015 until September 2021, was their Conference chair from September 2015 through August 2016, and served as their Membership Chair from May 2017 until September 2021.

Questioned Document Examiners, LLC conducts scientific analyses, comparisons, and examinations of documents in order to establish genuineness or non-genuineness, or to reveal alterations, additions, or deletions and to identify or eliminate persons as the source of handwriting. We present our opinion on the matter in court as an expert witness. We do not use destructive testing in our work.
